All you really need to know is

All you really need to know is

I went driving last night to get away from you.
Five minutes down the road
I realized you weren’t behind me,
you were a notion in my head.

I tried to find a road to turn around on,
but the side streets along the way were compact
I couldn’t see any entry until I passed.

I crossed railroad tracks and turned
into a lot of a crumpled grocery.
It was the type of store that was only
as big as your arms can stretch
where the ceilings run low and the lighting
causes fog to cascade in memories.

I let my car rest in a space,
as I stared out the moon roof.
Cold air brushed my cheeks
and fluttered my hair along my face.

The city smog covered awakened stars
and sorrowed moon beams.

The radio sang about waking up next to you
to your skin.
I want to smell your skin, I bet
it smells like approaching rain.

[I wrote this poem. It's not for a class. It's for you.]

I liked it. Especially cause I could picture where you were at as I was reading. GHETTO KROGER!
